SOLAS stands for “Safety of Life at Sea” and is used in the marine environment to assist in search and rescue operations. Reflective tapes are used in the maritime and offshore industry to increase safety on ships. The Solasflex Retro Reflective tape is part of our SOLAS maritime safety tapes. It is specifically designed to enhance the visibility of lifejackets, life rafts, or life boats. Why you should use our reflective tapes? Because there is no room for mistakes when it comes to the safety of your crew.
The Solasflex Retro Reflective tape reflects any light and amplifies it to provide enhanced night-time reflected visible brightness in dark areas, especially poorly lit areas.
Stitchable or adhesive
The reflective tapes are available in a stitchable and an adhesive variant. The Solasflex Retro Reflective tapes can either be sewn on or glued on.
Features of the Solasflex Retro Reflective tape
The SolasFlex Retro-reflective tapes are type II approved A658(16). This means they can be used internally and externally. The reflective tapes are highly weather resistant to continuous outdoor exposure. They are designed for the offshore and marine industries and have a long lifespan.
All our reflective tapes consist of an encapsulated optical design with a high reflective value that is clearly visible from every angle, both in dry and wet conditions. This very high reflectivity allows the tape to see thousands of feet instead of hundreds. In search and rescue operations, the extremely high reflectivity tape can mean the difference between life and death.
Requirements for reflective tapes:
– The reflective tape must be visible during both the day and night.
– The reflective tape must be visible from all sides.
– The reflective tapes must be positioned in such a way that they highlight the outline of the objects.
