According to Resolution MSC.554(108) of the International Life-Saving Appliances Code, the revised content stipulates that ‘the single fall and hook system does not have the capability to release the lifeboat or rescue boat with a load on the hook when it is not fully waterborne.
Our PX01 (35KN) product can automatically release the rescue boat when it is fully floating on the water surface, and can also be manually released when the load is 150kg. Therefore, it does not meet the new regulation’s requirement that it cannot be released under load, and thus the PX01 product will no longer be applicable to rescue boats after the implementation of the new regulation (January 1, 2026). However, it is still applicable to life rafts.
In response to the new regulation requirements, our company has launched the new PX01-B (30KN) product, which fully complies with the new regulation’s requirement that it cannot be released under load, and is suitable for rescue boats.
The relevant paragraphs of resolution MSC.554(108) are as follows:
Paragraph 4.4. 7 .6.17 is replaced by the following:
“where a single fall and hook system is used for launching a lifeboat or rescue boat in combination with a suitable painter, the requirements of paragraphs 4.4.7.6.7 and 4.4.7.6.15 need not be applicable; provided that the single fall and hook system does not have the capability to release the lifeboat or rescue boat with a laad on the hook when it is not fully waterborne.”
