Description
Corrosion Stop Zinc Tape will prevent galvanic corrosion and protects new and existing steel parts. For example, it can protect bridge supports, pipelines, and other marine structures. Corrosion is a natural process in which materials, often metals, undergo deterioration due to chemical reactions with their environment. This often happens in the maritime industry. It usually occurs when metals come into contact with moisture, oxygen, or other corrosive substances. Over time, these reactions can lead to the degradation of the metal’s physical and chemical properties. This weakens its structural integrity and potentially causes damage or failure.
That is why we offer you our Cor Stop Zinc tape. Our tape is made of high-purity zinc with a high-tack self-adhesive backing. Instead of the two metals that are attached to each other, the tape will oxidize and so protect the two other metals. The same principle is put into practice on vessels; anodes are placed on the ship’s hull. These anodes will rust instead of the hull which results in a hull that’s rust-free for a longer period of time.
Corrosion can have serious economic and safety implications, especially in the maritime industry, where metal structures are used. Preventive measures such as our Corrosion tape, are developed to mitigate the effects of corrosion and prolong the lifespan of metal components.
TECHNICAL DATA
Material: Zinc layer (39%)
Adhesive: Acrylate
