The PX01R Life Raft Hook
The PX01 Life Raft hook is an automatic release hook designed for davit-launched life rafts and is built to handle a safe working load of up to 35 kN, making it suitable for life rafts carrying up to 35 – 40 people.
This Release hook provides a clear and practical solution for life rafts. The use of dedicated hooks for each application keeps liferaft equipment straightforward to operate, manage, and maintain during launch operations.

How does the Life raft hook work?
The PX01 features two modes of operation, ensuring safe release of the liferaft in various conditions:
1. Automatic release – When the craft reaches the water, the hook automatically releases the connection. This function ensures a quick and hands-free detachment during emergency evacuations.
2. Manual release – If automatic release is not feasible—such as when the boat is under load while being towed or in rough sea conditions—the crew can manually activate the release once the craft is waterborne.
This dual-mode functionality provides flexibility and safety during launches in both calm and challenging conditions. Moreover, having a single, easy-to-identify hook reduces confusion in emergency situations and speeds up evacuation, making the PX01 Release Hook a practical and reliable solution for modern marine safety systems.
The PX01 life raft hooks are offload, meaning they can only be released when the boat is waterborne and no load is applied, ensuring maximum safety and reliability during launch.
Approvals and Standards
The PX01 Release Hooks meet important international safety standards:
