How does a Hydrostatic Release Unit work?
The T-ISS Seamate Ve-1 Hydrostatic Release Unit operates based on water pressure. When a vessel sinks, the HRU becomes submerged. At a depth of around 1.5 to 4 meters, the increasing water pressure activates the unit. This action either cuts strap securing the life-saving equipment, such as a life raft or EPIRB.
Once released, the equipment immediately floats to the surface. If it’s a life raft, the painter line becomes fully stretched, triggering the raft to inflate automatically. This process ensures that essential safety equipment is deployed—even if there’s no one available to launch it manually.
What makes the T-ISS Seamate Ve-1 HRU your best choice?
The T-ISS SeaMate Ve-1 sets a new standard for Hydrostatic Release units. Unlike standard hydrostatic release units that require replacement every two years, the SeaMate Ve-1 offers an extended service life of three years. This longer lifespan not only lowers maintenance costs, but also helps reduce environmental impact.
Weak link tensile force:
- HRU001-L Basic model, 6 up to 150 pax, between 2,2 ± 0,4 kN
- HRU003-M Mini model, 1 up to 12 pax, between 1,2 ± 0,4 kN
Built to perform in all weather conditions—from extreme heat to polar climates—our HRU ensures dependable operation across a wide range of environments.
We offer five different models to suit various applications:
1. The basic model for 6 to 150 pax, HRU001-L
2. The EPIRB model, HRU002-E
3. The mini model for 1 to 12 pax, HRU003-M
4. The remote-released model, HRU004-R
5. The combi model. Combination of HRU001-L, the HRU004-R and HRUHK-SH
Each unit is designed to meet the specific requirements of different vessel types and safety setups.
