What is Spray Stop Tape 50+?
Spray Stop Anti-Splashing Tape 50+ by T-ISS is a maritime tape designed to prevent spray-outs and leaks in high-pressure tubing systems. With a pressure resistance of up to 50 bar, it provides reliable protection where standard tapes may not suffice. Its multilayer aluminum construction helps prevent fires, explosions, and other hazards caused by leaking flammable liquids.
Spray Stop Anti-Splashing Tape 50+ can be used under the same circumstances as our standard Spray Stop Tape, that holds up to 15 bar.
Why is Spray Stop Tape 50+ so important to prevent accidents?
Spray Stop 50+ helps prevent serious accidents by containing spray-outs that may otherwise go unnoticed. Unlike dripping leaks, spray-outs often appear as a fine mist—making them difficult to detect. If these sprays involve flammable fluids like fuel or hydraulic oil and reach hot components or electrical systems, the result can be catastrophic.
This is especially critical in high-pressure systems where standard tapes might not hold. Spray Stop 50+ is designed for those conditions. Its 50 bar pressure capacity makes it suitable for systems that transport liquids at significantly higher pressures, ensuring maximum protection where it matters most.
By securing pipe joints and vulnerable areas with Spray Stop 50+, crew members can reduce the risk of fire and explosion on board. The tape is also resistant to continuous temperatures up to +160 °C and short bursts up to +200 °C, making it suitable for high-stress areas such as engine rooms.
Where do you use Spray Stop Anti-Splashing Tape 50+?
Spray Stop 50+ is ideal for use in the marine and offshore sectors, especially in systems operating under extreme high pressure, up to 50 bar. It is most commonly applied to:
- High-pressure fuel oil (FO) systems
- Lubricating oil (LO) lines
- Hydraulic circuits
- Any other fluid-carrying systems with operating pressures up to 50 bar
For systems that don’t require pressure resistance up to 50 bar, the regular Spray Stop Tape is often a suitable and more cost-effective solution.
