What is a Rescue Grab Hook?

The T-ISS Rescue Grab Hook is a specialized tool used in helicopter rescue operations, particularly in emergency situations involving fire or crash landings. The Grab Hook is designed to assist with the safe evacuation of individuals, and helps rescuers pull people to safety without causing injury or damage to clothing. Its blunted steel hook grips securely while remaining gentle on garments, making it ideal for use in high-stress rescue scenarios.

The T-ISS Rescue Grab hook is also a standard component of the T-ISS Helicopter Crash Kit.

How does the Rescue Grab Hook work?

The T-ISS Rescue Grab Hook consists of four parts that can be easily screwed together to form a complete 4.15-meter-long tool. It’s quick and easy to assemble, with clear hand placement stickers to ensure correct grip and weight distribution during use. This feature helps rescuers maintain full control of the hook, even under challenging conditions.

The head of the hook is made from heavy-duty steel and painted red for high visibility in smoke or low-light environments. The non-conductive handle is crafted from 40 mm straight-grained ash wood to ensure safety during operations near live electrical systems. An instruction poster is included with each hook to guide users through proper assembly and operation.
