LightLine PU Guideline

LightLine PU Guideline is a type of photoluminescent Low Location Lighting (LLL) strip designed for use in the maritime industry.

What is LightLine PU Guideline?

LightLine PU Guideline is a type of photoluminescent Low Location Lighting (LLL) strip designed for use in the maritime industry. Installed along the lower sections of ships, offshore platforms, and other marine environments, this system provides essential visual guidance in low-visibility situations such as smoke, darkness, or power loss.

The LightLine PU Guideline is a passive lighting solution. It charges using ambient light and emits a strong afterglow in the dark, helping passengers and crew safely locate pathways, stairs, exits, and escape routes during emergencies. With dimensions of 40 mm by 10 meters and an insert strip width of 35 mm, it fits seamlessly into various onboard layouts.

This flexible and durable strip features an anti-slip surface and is resistant to most chemicals, making it especially suitable for marking stairs, staircases, and contours. It can be easily applied using double-sided foam tape or glue.

As an alternative to traditional profile-insert LLL systems, LightLine PU Guideline is easier to apply and more cost-effective. Manufactured with the same quality as SafeSign signs, it is back-printed on PETX—a durable, glossy, and easy-to-clean material. The strips are PVC-free, halogen-free, and come with a 10-year warranty against discoloration and degradation of photoluminescent performance.

Why is LightLine PU Guideline Important?

During an emergency at sea, reliable visibility can mean the difference between a safe evacuation and a hazardous situation. The LightLine PU Guideline enhances onboard safety by providing clear, floor-level visual cues that remain visible even in complete darkness or smoke-filled environments. Its flexibility allows for precise installation along curved or irregular surfaces, and the anti-slip finish adds an extra layer of safety, particularly in stairwells or high-traffic areas. Because the system is photoluminescent, it continues to glow even if power is lost—offering crucial illumination when it’s needed most.
