What are the Watermist Applicators?
The Watermist Applicators are patented firefighting tools designed to combat electric vehicle fires by cooling and suppressing heat directly at the source—the lithium-ion battery. Made from lightweight aluminium, they are easy to handle and deploy, even in confined or challenging environments. We offer three kinds of Watermist Applicators:
• The FI-WMA126 is the standard model, applying a fine mist directly underneath or near the battery pack for rapid cooling and effective suppression.
• The FI-MWA138 is a longer, mobile version that allows quick access under vehicles, enabling one-person operation and efficient cooling of the vehicle’s underside.
• The FI-MWA241, our largest model, covers almost the entire underside of a car, providing extensive cooling to limit fire spread, suppress battery heat buildup, and reduce structural damage. All models are part of the Fire Isolator concept and offer targeted, practical solutions for controlling EV fires.
How do you use the Watermist Applicators?
The Watermist Applicators are easy to use and designed for fast, targeted response during EV fires. Each model connects quickly to a water supply via a Storz C-2 connector and is positioned under or alongside the vehicle or battery compartment to deliver a fine water mist directly to the fire source. This mist rapidly cools the area, suppresses flames, and helps prevent the fire from spreading. Thanks to their lightweight aluminium construction, the applicators can be deployed quickly and safely, even by a single operator. For optimal results, they are used in combination with other Fire Isolator tools—such as the Fire Blanket, Watermist Lance, and Aerosol Units—to form a complete EV fire suppression system.
